New heroal logistics centre with TEAM’s software ProStore®
The heroal (Johann Henkenjohann GmbH & Co. KG) with headquarters in Verl near to Gütersloh builds a 60,000 sqm large logistics centre in Hövelhof and charged TEAM with the optimization of in-house logistics based on standard software ProStore®.
Heroal is specialist for aluminium system solutions with over 500 employees at two locations (at its headquarters in Verl, Germany and a further site in Hövelhof). Heroal manufactures aluminium profile systems for roller shutters, roller doors, Windows, doors, facades and photovoltaic. Due to the highly successful market position and the company’s growth in the last years, heroal now builds a new logistics centre. With this investment, the company sets the decisive course for a still expansionary and future-oriented development.
The new logistics centre in Hövelhof became necessary because heroal reached its limits with existing capacities. The new logistics centre should be brought to line at the end of 2010 and bundle the heroal products storage and shipping. The two existing sites, currently used as production, warehousing and shipping sites, should in essence be continued as production sites.
The new logistics concept is based on modern technology concepts and systems, for example fully automatic high bay warehouse systems for long goods and accessories are integrated, order picking will then be realized paperless by using mobile terminals and a forklift control system optimizes all goods movements and ensures the best use of capacity. All bookings are recorded at any time online and the new logistics solution reaches a maximum inventory accuracy.
The new logistics system is integrated in the IT landscape and ensures a continuous flow of information.
